high res digital output stopped working
AnsweredAs of a recent Node 2i software update, I am no longer getting high-res coax output from the Node 2i to my external DAC using the Bluesound app (on an iPad) from either NeilYoungArchives (was 192 kHz, now downsampled to 44.1) nor Tidal (all MQA and other high-res content now output @ 44.1). Oddly though MQA from RadioParadise still outputs at 88.2 kHz as before using the app; and if I use the Tidal app with Tidal Connect, that also works. It's only the Bluesound app that has stopped passing high-res through for some sources. Any ideas out there? I have iOS Bluesound app version 4.4.0 and BluOS 4.4.11.

Tidal are in a transition stage at the moment, from the 24th July all MQA will be gone. Tidal playback via the BluOS App is currently either MQA or CD quality, been like this since December 23.
With less than four weeks left of MQA it’s probably easier to ignore until the 24th and hopefully FLAC 24/192 playback happens. Some hifi forums are reporting issues with MQA albums so they must be getting ready (removing) for the total withdrawal of MQA.
Sorry unsure about the Neil Young archives, I only get the sample as not a subscriber and this has on occasion been just CD quality. Worthwhile checking your subscription with NY archives.
