Tv not recognizing node on hdmi arc

My Samsung tv works perfectly when hdmi arc cable is plugged into soundbar. Tv detects soundbar, shuts off tv speakers and sends audio to soundbar automatically. If I unplug hdmi arc cable end from soundbar the TV speakers come on and the soundbar disappears from the tv audio output menu.
When I plug that same hdmi arc cablevend to the node, the tv does not see it. Disconnect/reconnect to soundbar and tv sees it, sends audio, etc.
Why is node no longer seen by TV earc? This used to work!
In the node, HDMI is set to auto.

HDMI is often not hot-swappable on many TVs. Try powering down the TV by unplugging it from the wall for 10 seconds.

Also a Samsung TV user, and after the last update I have to unplug my TV, and reboot the soundbar every day. Has been stable since 2018, not anymore.
