Questions due to 4 months of standstill in the development of BluOS and the controller apps
Answered1. When will the bugs in BluOS controller apps (Android and Windows) be fixed?
I think it's unnecessary to list them all again, they are certainly known. If necessary, I can go into more detail.
2. When can the BluOS app play the high-res layer of Tidal (not MQA)?
Most of the new releases I listen to are released in high-res, but unfortunately I can only hear CD quality due to Lenbrook's MQA policy. I don't understand why NAD doesn't intervene internally. They build such beautiful devices, especially the Masters series, which also costs a lot. With Tidal, CD quality is the limit.
3. Will Tidal Connect ever work properly?
As has been reported several times, it only works on the day of restarting a BluOS device (NAD and Bluesound) and the next day all devices have disappeared from the list.

Hi Tom
If you are having issues with Apps, please select Help, Send Support Request in the app, or e-mail us at support@bluesound.com so we can find out details and provide some 1:1 troubleshooting as to why TIDAL Connect is not working for you.
That being said, look for an Android update in the coming weeks and a Windows and macOS update shortly after.
In conversations with TIDAL, we will not be updating our current compromised strategy to allow our consumers to choose between original Masters offered by MQA or upsampled 24/192. Until it is available in the TIDAL API to choose or filter in MQA content TIDAL MQA will be in the App and TIDAL MAX will be via TIDAL Connect. -

3. yes, Tidal is broken for me too. I was using Qobuz for a while so didn't notice straight away but coming back to Tidal now it's very frustrating to see Tidal Connect not working properly. It keeps losing connection, it doesn't refresh currently playing song when the playback moves to the next song, can't change volume. I have to reconnect to the device (Powernode 2i) from Tidal app in order to regain control of whatever is playing. Very frustrating as all of this used to work. For reference, I am on Android (Samsung Galaxy S23 with all the latest patches applied).

In my home both normal and Tidal Connect works with a BlueSound Node N130 and a BlueSound Node 2i from a Samsung Galaxy S20FE and an iPad. I use Tidal Connect often as it is the easiest way to play my daily mix. I do not need to restart the devices.
I have a mixed network (WiFi, cabled and repeaters) so it seems to be possible. Always difficult to find the root cause of your kind of problems. I only need it for the daily mix as all other playlists, favorites and search functionality are accessible through the BluOS Controller. In your case I would probably make a separate playlist for the daily mix if the BluOS Controller app is stable.0 -
@Tom, do not have noticed many bugs but I would love to see the blueOS playlist behaviour from v2 back. I miss the ability to keep a record of a listening session.
