Bluesound doesn't like the special character ':' in file names
AnsweredI was trying to figure out why Bluesound doesn't recognize a significant fraction of my music collection. It turns out it wasn't reading any files with a colon ':' in the file name, which surprisingly accounts for ~10% of my music collection. Replacing the colon with a space is a 'fix' and Bluesound has no issue reading the colon in the file's metadata.
Are there other special characters that are known to be problematic?
Also, there appears to be an issue with directories containing either a colon, or a period. This could be a Samba issue.

Even though BluOS uses UTF8 file recognition, colons are a wild card when file naming and will cause issues in the file names but not meta data.
This is not a BluOS issue but a standard OS issue in many platforms. Question marks, slashes and asterix are also not useable.

I'd be interested to know as well. I think BluOS is linux based and the only forbidden character for file names is a forward slash ( / ). Windows forbids the colon in file names so you may be right that it is a Samba issue.
