Digital Output Sampling Rate
AnsweredI am planning on buying a Node streamer but I would like to know if it is possible to put an upper limit on the sampling rate of the digital outputs (Coaxial and optical). I want to connect it to the Smyth Realiser A16 3D Processor, and currently the processor does not support sampling rates higher than 48KHz. I appreciate your response as I couldn't find any reference in that regard.

You could use the analogue outputs on the NODE, this way you would not have to worry about the bit / sample rate.

This is not a feature of Bluesound hardware, you would be best to ensure that you do not playback higher resolution tracks and stick to ripped CDs or a streaming service such as Deezer.

Thank you for your prompt answer. I use Presto Music streaming and a lot of their newer repertoire is high resolution. I can't control that from their end unfortunately.

Yes of course, analogue outputs would work, but the quality will take a hit, because the 3D processor will need to convert the analogue to digital then process it before sending it out digitally to an external DAC.
How about the HDMI eARC connection, is this only an audio input or does it output audio? My 3D processor had HDMI inputs that don't have the same sampling rate limit.

The HDMI a port is ONLY for connecting a TV and nothing else.

Thank you!
