Replace Powernode 2 with C399
AnsweredI'm considering replacing my Powernode 2 with a Nad C399 as it will give me better connectivity for my TT, potential to re-add a CD player (I never did get rid of those old CDs !) and provide overall better sound.
My question is that I have a fairly odd main setup - i.e.
TV --> Pulse Soundbar via an optical cable.
Sofa is (unsurprisingly) in front of the TV and soundbar.
Behind the sofa is my Powernode 2 - connected to a pair of Spendor speakers - acting as "unofficial" rear speakers.
I listen equally music from sources Spotify/Innuos Zen - played via the above setup and sound from the TV (if I have the Soundbar setup as the "main" player in my group, switching on the TV automatically takes over the sound).
If I replaced the Powernode 2 in this scenario, would the C399 simply appear in a Bluesound group in the same way as it does now - e.g. Soundbar+3 ?
I'm interested - because the combination of Pulse Soundbar and Powernode 2/Spendors is great - they work surprisingly well in tandem for both music and TV, even though they're not set up in a home cinema way.
Cheers

No - Though the NAD C 399 is BluOS Enabled thanks to the BluOS-D MDC, it is not one of the products DOLBY Certified with a BluOS Home Theatre Group. These are the possible combinations; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360043743094
BUT Consider the NAD C 399 as a welcome addition to your home in conjunction with your existing BluOS System.

Ahhh right - thanks Tony W - that's interesting
I actually don't have my existing players set up in a Home Theatre Group - something to try this evening - I rather stumbled across the setup I have !0 -
It's coming back to me now - I don't have adequate players to make a Home Theatre Group - I suspect I need to upgrade my Powernode
