    Hi Christophe,

The FLAC files when played will be uncompressed by the Bluesound Player. There is no way to Rip FLAC uncompressed as it is a compressed file format. Some other software does have the option to compress the FLAC file in " UnCompressed Mode" but we do not alter the source of the file from the CD. The Decompression that is performed when playing back the FLAC file on BluOS Players will deliver the same sound quality as a .wav file.

    many thanks for your response

but the file compression alters the quality of the file

    Lossless compression is only theoretical

the "Antipodes" drive can rip on flac uncompressed

It is only a setting in the software

A future release may include this option

    regards

    Hi Christophe

Loseless compression is not theoretical. The concerns you have are based on older streamers (mid 00s) did not have enough RAM to uncompress the file without affecting the buffer or jitter. This is the origin of the myth. Virtually all streamers today do not have that issue.

If you are concerned however you can rip your CDs as WAV in the RIP/Encode Settings of the VAULT.
