    Hi Jan

I am sorry to say there is no way to disable the Ethernet link light on the back when the unit is connect via a wired connection.

Hi Jan What I have done is to take a small piece of black scotch tape and put that only on the small lights on the back of the Node 2.

    Worked for me!

    Hi Marteen,

Many thanks for the tip. I did the same, patched the ethernet connection with duck tape and tucked the whole Node2 unit way out of sight behind some furniture so it can no longer be seen. Such a shame, but I don't need a cristmas tree until december.

    Cheers

Flashing Etherley light is infuriating.  Like having an alien constantly winking at me from across the room. I am now tempted to just unplug the power node 2 when not in use. Surely Bluesound could write something that can disable this flashing light? Alternatively offer a method of powerering down the device when not in use.

    Cheers,

    Conor.

  • Hi Conor

We appreciate the concern however the low level firmware of the network interface card is the root cause of this issue. We are aware of it but have unfortunately been unable to find a long term solution as of yet. Thank you for your feedback and it has been forwarded to our Bluesound Quality Assurance Team...

This is end of 2019 now: is there any propper solution to that problem by now (like a shut off option for that LED) ?

I just bought a Node 2 and was surprised that the ethernet light cannot be switched off. My 6 year old Linn has this option and you can switch off the other lights on the Node 2. It would be really nice if you add this option in a firmware update. As other members mentioned, the flickering light is pretty annoying. Luckily duct tape fixes everything.

  • Luckily duct tape fixes everything.

There are stickers called 'Dots' which are designed specifically for covering LEDs and only cost a couple of dollars on Amazon. Far more attractive than good ole duct tape.

It would be good to have a proper fix for this instead of having to use the sticker approach. I am new to Bluesound and just discovered this (minor) annoyance. I realise there may be some challenges in implementing this, but it would be nice to have a setting to allow for the LED to be turned off (separate to the illumination settings for main controls on top of the device).

Well I thought I would give the Node 2I another shot.  Last time I sent it back because I just couldn't get over Bluesound not wanting to provide track sample rate information in the interface.  MANY are asking for this.

So anyway Amazon just dropped off another unit to me this evening and I decided to connect it via ethernet.  And not I can't believe that there is no way to turn off this damn orange blinking light.  It's so annoying.  And the suggested solution from Bluesound is to cover the led with a sticker?  You have to be kidding me!  You guys must be paying people to review this thing.  Cause guess what this one is going back also.

Oh..  and the app leaves a lot to be desired.

    Hi all 🤜
Just wired my NODE 2i up & I'm glad to see I'm not the only one 🙄!!
I used the same trick on the front Blue Led just enough to cover it 👍 means I can have the top controls lit 👌 So sounds like I need more insolation tape 🤣!!
NEVER heard sound like it 🎵!🎵!🎵! 😉
