Node early demise? Anyone else
Hi, I live in the high country of CO and have had 3 or 4 nodes die an early death in the last 3 years. The first deaths coincided with lightning strikes. The units powered on with a red light. Bluesound kindly replaced 2 and I was honest about lightning as I primarily wanted to ensure it did not happen again. All gear has always been plugged into a $100 Isobar and a year ago moved up to a Furman Power conditioner. Yesterday our power went out and my latest Node (16 mos survival) no longer powers up at all. No other audio/AV or other electronics have ever had any issues, just multiple Nodes.
I am not bashing Bluesound at all, they have been generous. I am just seeking ideas on what may be causing this in the Node(s) and nothing else. I expect to have to buy another but desperately am trying to figure the problem/solution.
I've also reduced the hard wires down to just a HDMI input (TV), power cord, and the USB out to DAC. I thought maybe the cat6 from the router before could have send a spike but eliminated even that after the first two red light deaths.
Any ideas?
