    Hi Ed,

For the artwork you have to show up, you will need to place a JPG format file embedded into the metadata of the music file or have a separate file stored as folder.jpg or cover.jpg in the same folder as the located music. (.jpeg works as well) . As long as the file size is 600kb or less, it'll work.

You're missing the point completely.  I buy a lot of music.  You're asking me to add a step for every album I buy.  But I won't know if I have to do it until I've downloaded the album, and then run the library sync to know which albums have cover art that's too large.

Even worse, my library currently has a touch over 40,000 files, a bit over 7000 folders.  Conservatively estimated, I'd have to go extract the jpg, resize it, and put it in the folder, and do this for 2000 to 3000 folders.  I have more interesting things to do with a week.

That's why I think this is a development roadmap item. The alternative is a huge work issue for me.

This is the first time I've had any library tool with this problem.  I'm kind of left with using the Node2 as a DLNA endpoint and manage it from my JRiver/JPlay system.  Not a bad thing for listening to my music library, but now I'll have different controls for internet radio and my library, not what I was hoping for. I've got several dumb endpoints already, didn't need another.

4 years ago, huh? And no progress. Still can't handle any cover art over 4mb. I guess you are still working on it :)

screw BestBuy guys who convinced me to buy Node 2

  • In the App Settings, under Music Library, please enable Optimize Artwork. This will then right-size your artwork the next time the Index is built. Once enabled, select Help, Diagnostics, Rebuild Index. This rebuild Index may take some time though depending on how bloated your artwork is.
