New Node2 user. Most of my library is purchased from Qubuz, HDTracks, or other similar sites, I do rip occasionally but not much, only if that's the best resolution available. So - I'm not picking the cover art embedded in my music, the distributor is.
The current cover art restrictions make the album view pretty awful. I bought a dozen albums from HDTracks a couple days ago. Half of them, the cover art is bigger than 600x600. For example, Blue Oyster Cult Best of, Willie Nelson and Leon Russell One for the Road, Jascha Heifetz trios and live at the Chandler Pavilion, all show no cover art. Albums by Beck, Gary Clark Jr, Chris Botti, all show cover art. Two albums downloaded from Bowers & Wilkins - one shows cover art, the other doesn't.
This isn't a small problem. For me to go fix this, I'd have to edit thousands if not tens of thousands of tracks. A lot of risk in that of causing some OTHER problem. From a little poking around today, I noticed that almost every album NOT showing cover art is 1500x1500. Didn't find any bigger than that, all coming in around 1800kb to 2600kb. (Doesn't mean there might not be some out there...)
The BlueOS should be able to handle what the distributors of HD music are embedding. 600x600 is an Apple standard, not an industry standard.
