Did you have any issues with the old DAC?

Can you test the DAC with another digital source, such as a CD / DVD player or TV.you would have to change the output to 2 channel PCM mind.

Edit. Personally I would send the DAC back and look at an alternative as even if working it would not be very useful connected to any streamer that plays hires material.

Whatever you decide to do the ANK 2.1 only takes. 24/96 input so that rules out using Tidal, Qobuz and Amazon Music with the DAC and anything sent at this resolution could cause the DAC to exhibit weird behaviour.

Do try using one side on an interconnect lead instead of a digital coaxial lead, also try the lead connected to the ANK 2.1 but disconnected at the NODE and see what happens.

    Thanks Seppi,
The problem is I'm not even sending music at this point. The popping and scratching is before I play anything

Appreciate that, try powering off the DAC for five mins then play a CD bitrate track but also try what I posted about the lead above before playing anything.

Did a factory reset, tried using an RCA no avail. Still scratching/popping as soon as the unit is on.
