Connecting my Bluesound Vault 2i when no IP Cable is available
AnsweredGreetings,
I have had my Bluesound Vault 2i for several years and have been operating fine.
But now, I am moving to a new residence where there is no hardwired network connection available at the location with the rest of my stereo system. I DO expect to have a strong signal for WiFi, but of course the Vault requires a hardwired connection. Is there any device I can buy that will connect to WiFi and provide hardwired IP cable outlets? If so, what is such a device called? I could relocate the Vault to a location next to my router where a hardwired connection is available, but then I would not be able to connect the Vault to my stereo amp.
How have others solved this problem?

Powerline works for me. It needs a little time to get it set up correctly, but it's worth it.

Some use a Wi-Fi mesh system, placing one of the mesh points near the VAULT. The mesh would need an Ethernet port on the mesh point.
A cheaper solution is to use Powerline (AV) adapters, one is connected to the Router and the other connects to the VAULT. These transmit over the mains power and can either work 100% or be the worst thing ever.
