I have a Bluesound Node and have hooked it up to my Onkyo AV receiver using the standard (and supplied) RCA cables. I note however, that Bluesound Node has an option to make use of a digital cable (Toslink) - and my Onkyo also has an optical connection.
Is the sound any different (better, worse, louder, quieter etc) between a RCA cable and a digital cable?
If a digital cable is better, I wonder why this wasn't supplied (whereas RCA cables were).
Obviously I could just go and buy an optical cable and test it -- but the costs are quite high and f there is no perceptible difference, then I will just sick to my out-of-the-box RCA connectors.
