Switching from a Squeezebox, help with simple questions !
AnsweredI ripped my CD collection onto my computer harddrive for the SB, my question is if I replace the SB with a Node X, will I have to rip them all again ! Or will the node see those files? What is the best way to present music files for the Node? I'm pretty sure the Node and SB uses different operting systems. Also, once I get it all setup, will the Node play a random mix of my music? Thanks for any help and I hope that makes sense. John

Just as long as the CDs were ripped to a format BluOS can use then there should be no issues. The network share you already have can be added to the BluOS App and with the credentials added it will go off and index the share.
You may however have issue with album artwork but there are program such as Bliss that can automate the process for you which runs on your computer.
The SB was way ahead of it time, I actually had several SliMP3 before upgrading to the Touch model. Random mix would involve loading all your tracks into a play queue and then shuffling.

Thank you for the fast answer. I appreciate it ! The more I think about it, ripping them again may be a good thing since the SB database is not real friendly as far as deleting files and such. I could have it done by 2025 I think. LOL
