December 2017 and bluesound still has no audio balance. Almost every month an update and never an improvement. Similar to appel, after each update is a useful function less ...

    Hi Norman

Thanks for the feedback. We are always looking to improve the experience as mentioned originally. I will remind our teams here that though not a large demand, there is concerns for this.

    Hi Tony

The desire for a balance controller, you can find in many chats. But please do not install in the equalizer. The balance control should be at the stereo button. I wish you a good start to the new year

I just picked up a PowerNode2 and am really surprised there is no L/R balance control.  How can a primary amp NOT have L/R balance control?   I really need to have this control for my installation.   Can this be easily added?  I would think anyone that has purchased a PowerNode would want this ability.   Thank you!

I would apprciate to have a left/right balance control added to Node 2i. For practical reasons it is not possible for me to place my speakers symmetrically to the seating position, resulting in an unbalanced listening experience.

i read that this request was already raised in 2017. Can this be added again to the feature list? Or are there other ways to address asymmetrical seating postions?

  • Hi Jan

On a NODE 2i, why not adjust the Amplifier it is connected to. I have reminded our development team for the POWERNODE 2i.

    Hello Tony

i understand your point to handle balance settings in the amplifier. However, I am directly driven active speakers from the Node 2i, hence my request to have balance settings in the Node

  • Hi Jan

I was afraid you'd say that, why I already mentioned the NODE to our development team when discussing the POWERNODE lack of balance with them yesterday.

    Thanks for your patience.

Good to see this is getting some traction.  Can't wait for this to be implemented for my Powernode2.   Every time I'm playing music in my backyard, my wife reminds me that its too loud on one neighbor's side and need to turn it down.  Then it's too quiet on the other.   Also need it to adjust the balance when watching outdoor movies, with the speakers not in ideal locations.

    Looking forward to this development!

Both me and my father recently purchased a powernode 2i and we were both unpleasantly surprised to discover that there is no balance function available. Very much appreciated if this issues remains high on the agenda at the development team and looking very much forward to see this functionality added.

I too would like a balance control on my Bluesound NODE2i. One of my speakers is in a corner which causes an imbalance so I could really use this! My power amp and preamp don't have balance controls so I am stuck!

The lack of balance control is impacting my enjoyment of my PowerNode. I have in-wall speakers, so I can't move them and moving m desk isn't going to work.  I feel foolish that I didn't notice this missing feature when I did my research.

It appears that balance control has been on the request list for a really long time.  When can we expect this deficiency resolved?  Thanks!  Rudy

I can't wait any longer for balance control. Does anyone know of an external balance control solution that can be used on the speaker connections of the Powernode?

Hello Rudy. You could buy a preamp or DAC with built-in balance control. For example, the RME ADI-2 DAC or Rogue Audio RP-1 Preamp. But they are an expensive solution.

Those look like really nice solutions but probably too much for me right now ($1k+).

    Thanks Jeffrey.

A cheaper solution would be the Cambridge Audio DUO MC/MM Phono Headphone Preamplifier ($299). It has a balance control.

Another one is the Parasound Zpre3 Compact Stereo Preamplifier ($449).

I wish they would just fix this functional deficiency in the product. Sure seems like it would be pretty straight forward to implement, which makes me think that it is not implemented for a reason and most likely never will be. For those of us that use this amp only with streaming sources and no external sources, having the balance control in the unit itself is a must!

    Bluesound, are you listening? Please!

The pre-amp you are recommending look great Jeffrey.  For my powernode, I don't even need an amp. Let me see if I can't find just a balance control without an amp built in.

I found a few solutions.  Not elegant (embarrassing actually) but should work. Since I only need to control one side to balance the volume, one of these should work:

I use the Powernode 2, so I don't need an amp. Why can't Bluesound balance control implement this in the app? Is this difficult or not a priority?

Another vote for Balance control. New install of a powernode 2i in my bedroom, with speakers mounted on a diagonal support beam. No balance control is killing the stereo imaging. Please implement!
