Firstly, I am not sure if this is the correct sub-forum for my question. I apologize, if I've made a mistake.
Setup: Sony Bravia TV (Optical out) + Grouped players: Pulse 2 + Flex 1 + Flex 2
Optical output is being fed to Pulse 2. I am facing an extremely large lip sync delay in the order of 5 seconds or more.
I tried the instructions provided in forum (https://support.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/207291217-Why-Is-There-a-Delay-When-Grouping-My-Player-When-Watching-TV).
Here's what I've tried:
1. Played the video
2. Wait for sound playback to occur
3. Paused the video after 5 seconds
4. Waited for the audio to catch up on the speakers
5. Ungrouped all the players.
6. Selected Pulse 2 and played deezer -> radio station
7. Select Optical Input.
8. Grouped all the players back and replayed the video.
Next I repeated the same steps above but this time after ungrouping all the players, I grouped all the players back. Then I played Deezer Radio station, selected optical Input after 5 seconds and then played the video back. Unfortunately, the lip sync issue still remains and it is still just as bad.
Please note that as soon as I ungroup the players and use only the Pulse 2, the problem is no more, i.e. I don't even have to switch audio streams. The Pulse 2 almost instantly synchronizes with the video.
Is there any solution to the problem I'm facing, applicable to the setup I have? I've read that lip sync issue is important to Bluesound, but is there more information available at this time, i.e. does Bluesound still consider this to be an issue which requires fixing or no?
