I made my first Bluesound purchase a couple weeks ago (Node 2) and it's a fantastic product. Great sound quality, easy to set up and no issues with connectivity or playback thus far. I do, however, have a few suggestions for the Android application:
I should start by saying the app does what it's supposed to with no frills. No crashes or issues on Android 5.0.2 running on my HTC One M8. In terms of usability, there are a few things that would help improve the experience dramatically:
1) Currently the Bluesound icon in the notification (pull down) bar at the top only allows you to stop the app i.e. "Touch to stop". The standard behavior for Android, however, is to launch/bring forward apps from the notification bar - not close them. This causes me to inadvertently close the app multiple times daily via touching the icon in the notification bar when I really want to bring up Bluesound to change a song, edit a playlist etc. The option to close the app should only be within the app itself via the menu; the icon in the notification window should be used exclusively bring the app to the forefront.
A good blueprint for how I'd expect this to work would be the Pandora app. In the notification bar it gives the user the ability to bring the app to the forefront. It also shows the song that's currently playing and allows you to skip forward to the next song... all via the notification bar.
2) Sorting! This app sorely needs different ways to organize songs, artists, albums via sorting capability using different (selectable) categories. One of my favorite things about the Tidal UI is when a song is added to my favorites it shows up at the top of the list... so whenever I want to play the new song I just found it's right at the top of my list.
Looking forward to your response and thanks for a great product!
