I am considering buying a Node 2 and a 4 TB Seagate Backup Portable Plus, which I would format as FAT32.
I saw this article on your support site, however:
Has anyone at Bluesound tested this popular Seagate drive to determine if the Node 2 powers it sufficiently? If the Seagate is not adequately run by the Node 2, are there other personal USB external drives which the Node 2 will run?
Alternative 2- A desktop external drive with an AC cord is an alternative, but it is less convenient (and would it be noiser?)
Alternative 3- The Seagate Personal Cloud NAS seems overly complex, and my router is twenty feet from my audio system. So I would be sending my files on Wifi from the NAS to the Node 2. Won't I get better sound if I have a wired connection from an external hard drive connected to the Node 2 than if the music is transferred over WiFi? I have a friend who is a collector who has given me a (non-FAT32) hard drive with 1 TB of great music on it, which sounds excellent, and I don't want to go backward in quality due to a wireless connection.
Thanks for any thoughts you may have.
