    Hello Brooks,

    Are you talking about the "DISCNUMBER" metadata tag, or something else?

    The DISCNUMBER tag is typically used to sort Box-Set CD's. If numbers are different for each disk, but the Album Metadata (aka Album Title) is the same, the tracks will be divided in this album as separate disks.

    No, I'm talking about "disc" as suggested by crip and supported by squeezebox server.

    If DISCNUMBER is what's supported I can guess I can put a script together to add that tag to files with "disc" tags. Thanks.

    Hello Brooks,

    If you would like, you can start a support ticket to us, so you can end up sending us a file to look at.

    Feel free to bring this up to our support crew, using this link.

    Adding DISCNUMBER tags has addressed the issue. For bsd, linux, or macos users, the following script did the job:

    #!/bin/sh
    for file in "$@"; do
    case $file in
    *.flac) ;;
    *) continue ;;
    esac
    disc=metaflac --show-tag=disc "$file"
    if [ -z "$disc" ]; then
    continue
    fi
    DISCNUMBER=metaflac --show-tag=DISCNUMBER "$file"
    if [ -n "$DISCNUMBER" ]; then
    continue
    fi
    disc="${disc#disc=}"
    echo $file
    metaflac --preserve-modtime "--set-tag=DISCNUMBER=$disc" "$file"

    done

    Run with: find /storage/audio/ -type f -print0 | xargs -0 <script>
