Older 2i vs new Node
Answeredhello everyone, I am looking for subjective comments on anyone who sold their 2i and bought the new current Node and what their thoughts are. I simply do 2 channel 1 room and use an external DAC. Anyone with a similar setup feel the newer version is subjectively a LOT better?
Thank you.

If you are using an external DAC via COAX or Toslink, you will see virtually no performance difference between the NODE 2i and NODE N130. The NODE N130 does have a better onboard DAC though.
If money is burning a hole in your pocket, consider POWERNODE or POWERNODE Edge for another room in your house for a multiroom experience.

Not upgraded myself but I know a few who have. Soundwise using an external DAC, there seems to be little difference. The type of material the casing is made from has changed, some reports of sticky or melting cases on older Nodes. Plenty of competition now in this market, some are getting good user feedback. I will be looking to change my Node2 later this year but doubt it will be Bluesound device. The difference between the 2i and the new models is small, in my opinion.

Thank you Rays Jazz for your reply. I was using a Raspberry 4 with an ALLO Signature One HAT into my DAC, then I got the 2i was able to put that combo AWAY. The all in one streamer did it all. I am not looking to replace the 2i anytime soon due to budget,,,still what other competition are you looking at, be fun to read about other products. Thank you, Otto

There are a few brands I'm considering. I don't think I can mention them here, as this is a Bluesound site. Some are Chinese but not all. Probably will go to a Hifi show in April and hear some.
