Pulse Flex 2i portability
AnsweredI understand that Bluesound do not recommend removing the power supply to the unit but say that it should remain connected to the mains/battery pack at all times.
As the speaker is advertised as a portable speaker please can someone comment on whether it is acceptable to unplug, move and then re-plug the speaker all in one action.
I know that having re-connected it will need to re-connect to the Wi-Fi and that will take a little while but are there other issues to consider? I have read that powering down completely may damage the power supply in the long run. Is this because powering down and re-powering puts a thermal stress on the components, or is there another problem? And if it is a thermal stress issue can this be alleviated by keeping the disconnected period as short as possible, eg less than a couple of minutes?
Thanks for reading

Hi Peter
Yes you can easily move it from room to room. In doing so know that audio playback will be interupted when you do though regardless of the Battery Pack connected or not.

Thanks Tony, just so I know, does that mean it will do no harm to remove from the mains and reconnect, say, the next day, or should it be reconnect asap once it’s been moved?
Thanks

correct - but Bluesound Players are designed to be always on and always ready and will go into stand by mode when inactive to conserve power.

Thanks again, are you saying correct, it can be left disconnected day to day, or are you saying correct, it should be reconnected asap. Mine runs at 2.5 - 2.7W whether it’s playing or not, admittedly I’ve not run it at very high volumes….yet. Is this as should be expected?

Less than 3W as required by EU Law (the strictest of all bodies) for a network-connected home appliance.
