Tight sound with Powernode 330

I recently acquired Powernode 330i. I am using with Paradigm Espirit speakers for TV via eArc. So far so good. Sound seems to be more clear etc., But the sound seems to be too tight. While the TV (Sony) audio quality is no where close to the Powernode the TV sound is far more open. Just to visualize the sound from Powernode is clear, loud but it sounds as if something is holding the sound from behind. Hope I visualized the sound well :)

Is this common? Appreciate your input. Just to give more context, I have been using PowerDACs and brick and mortar receivers till now.
