I would also very much like a native BB10 app. I have side loaded the Android app using Snap, but it can't seem to locate my PowerNode on the network. No issues using it from my iPad, but I don't carry that around the house with me like i do my phone. Hoping that you expand support to include BlackBerry soon. Thanks.

Has anyone else tried using the Android app on a BlackBerry 10 device? I am thinking of purchasing a Bluesound system, but absolutely will not if I can not control it with a BlackBerry.

I am interested in getting the Blusesound Pulse. Unfortunately, I did not get it because there is no BlackBerry App for Bluesound Pulse. All these years, BlackBerry is the only phone I used. I did tried out the Bluesound App for Andriod on my BlackBerry but it kept on showing discovering.

Please consider having native BlackBerry Apps for Bluesound. The newest BlackBerry OS is BlackBerry 10 OS.

Update from my post 5 months ago - I just updated my Z30 to Blackberry OS 10.3.1 and the side-loaded app now works perfectly (actually faster to respond than the iOS version my iPad mini). Very happy that I checked. As stated above, the app worked, except could never find my PowerNode on my home network. not an issue anymore.

Bluesound folks - if you won't make a native BB app, can you at least make your android app available on the Amazon app store (part of the latest BB10 update)? It removes all hassle of side-loading. Seems like a really easy way to expand access.

well look at that... it's on the Amazon app store already (or they are crazy fast at responding to customer suggestions).

So to summarize... bluesound android app works on Blackberry phones now and easy to install. I highly recommend both the bluesound products and am really looking forward to the added convenience of controlling it from my BB phone. Thanks.

Good to know, but too late for me. I went with Sonos instead since I couldn't get any answers to this question and wasn't going to invest in a system unless I knew for sure that it would work.

I like the idea of buying a Bluesound product but, since I use a blackberry (paid for) and don't want to buy another phone just to control the Bluesound device in my bedroom (away from my PC), I may just have to choose something else instead.

Oh, that's interesting, when I went to this discussion I only saw the first post...so, there is an app for BB?  Let me take a look....

Well, unfortunately, when I try to open Amazon on my BB it wants to totally invade my privacy: files, emails, camera, microphone. Is that really necessary? So, I select 'decline' and that's the end of it. No chance to deselect anything. You would think that if they want to sell you something that they wouldn't do this!

This whole thing is wrong. I don't want to have to install an 'app', that might occasionally not work at all or require extensive searching of forums to make it do so, in order to control something that I have paid for! I want to control the device directly. Simple.

Shaking my head in disbelief because I wanted to buy this device but now I'm not going to.

  • Hi Jenna

Sorry to hear that. We do have a PC App for Windows or Mac available at www.bluesound.com/downloads if you choose not to use the Android App on your Blackberry.

We put extensive testing into our Products like most Internet of Things devices to ensure the Players are always ready and appear in the App.

    Hi Tony,

Thank you for the prompt response.

The problem with this option is that I would either have to move my PC into the bedroom where I want to play my music or buy another one just for that purpose. I really would much prefer to have a device that I can control directly without having to install apps. I'm also really annoyed that Amazon wants access to absolutely everything on my phone before I can use it - but that's a complaint I'll take elsewhere.

If I ever get a new phone for a different reason then I might look at this again.

For now, because I've decided I want portability and am most interested in playing my own music files I have decided to get a Pono (eBay) and try that with some new headphones. Spotify I get from my laptop in my living room via an Arcam DAC into my amplifier and I don't feel the need to carry Spotify around with me - I just use it now and then to find new artists.

Funny, all the posters' names are not showing on this page.

    Thanks.
