    Hi Maurice,

    Great amplifier :).

It sounds like you are experiencing typically network problems which causes the app to lose its connection to the BluOS module.

Read about how you can improve your connection here:

How to Improve the Signal Strength to your BluOS Player? – The BluOS Support Crew

If you can't get it solved with the help from the above link please feel free to contact NAD's support crew. You can get to them by using the function Send Support Request from the app or by sending them an email on support@nadelectronics.com

Hi Maurice! I would advise looking elsewhere. I've had a C658/C298 for two years now and nothing but problems with BluOS. Nothing to do with network. It's full of bugs. The sound is great but BluOS makes it a frustrating experience. It was pretty good with the last version 3, but since version 4 it has become scandalously bad. Find something else is my advice. Sorry, but that's my experience. I don't see things going well with BluOS anytime soon.

Yes, I still have time to think about it until the beginning of February.
I have now put the Bluos app back to version 3. Maybe a little better, but sometimes still a bit of a joke. I did notice that if the Bluos app hangs, I can still operate fe nad from the Spotify app (so I also thought that it has nothing to do with the network.
What would you advise me if I decide to go for something else?
I want arc and phono and wireless streaming of course
    Kind regards, Maurixe

If I could choose again, I would go for the Naim Atom. Only heard good things about it. But it remains personal. My choice is quite limited because I only stream from NAS. I have no interest in subscriptions. I almost automatically came to NAD. The sound is great, especially with CDs. But the software is crap. Such a pity. At the time I was doing research, the choice was between NAD and Naim. However, I found the Atom's output power a bit low (I thought), so went with the NAD. Together with a PowerNode for my fitness room. In itself it worked quite well. But version 4? Ugh. Nothing but problems. Hopefully it will get better and more stable. But in your situation, where you can still change your mind, I would know. Something that costs €2500 should work just fine, without any problems. That's why you buy something like this. What you could also do is use ROON instead of BluOS, but then you are stuck with a subscription again. It worked fine in my trial period. But I don't want to be dependent on third parties for my hobby and have to keep a server running for that. Someone else may have fewer problems with this. However, it works flawlessly and is very nice and fun to use. There is nothing wrong with NAD's hardware. It's the software that's the problem. So maybe try ROON once? You can bet that things will eventually work out with BluOS (then it is a super system; it almost worked!) or continue looking at Naim, for example. There is something to be said for all three options in terms of pros and cons. Much wisdom in your decision!

Hi Maurice - Spotify Connect uses a proprietary protocol and does not use Multicast. Multicast or mDNS is a very common 'Smart Product' or 'IoT' product protocol. This alone suggests your home router is in fact blocking or limiting mDNS or Multicast communications. As Morten suggested, the Support Crew will be happy to help you troubleshoot.

@Bob thank very much for your info. I will look into Naim Atom and Roon.

You can disable the new interface at the control app. It's better, less crashing. But unfortunately still crashing sometimes

@Tony when I disable the new interface the app works ok most of the time. This suggests that my router is working fine with Multicast. After a few weeks with the 3.0 app version I had 90% working fine en 10% app crashing. This morning I switched to 4.0 and after a few hours the app crashes in the middle of a song. 4.0 is working 60% percent of the time ok.

My question to you and your team. How long will the 3.0 version stay available?

And can you admit that the 4,0 version has some seious instability issues?

    kind regards Maurice
