connecting Blue Sound to PS Audio DAC to Michi P5

Hello-and thanks in advanced for any help you may be able to provide.

I have a new version of the Blue Sound Vault2i and am interested in using a refurbished PS Audio Direct Stream DAC to a Michi P5 Preamp-I connected the Blue Sound to the DAC using a USB A to C cable to the DAC, am using XLR Connectors into the Michi out of the DAC-Alas-no sound-would I be better off using optical link to the DAC? I am under the impression that the highest fidelity available would be through the USB connection, but I am not certain-thanks for your help-

  The VAULT 2i does not support USB output to an external DAC. COAX or Optical output are your only options.

  As for USB being superior - this really is subjective. We always recommend to let your ears decide.

  Something you should try yourself. Coax is considered by many to be superior to optical, USB should be as good or better but depends on your system.

  Generally, if using a good cable coaxial, coax is the way to go.
