    @ Bob

I have over 40,000 flacs on a NAS  and 8 BluOS units ranging from Flex's to M33 and do not have any of the issues you describe. Have you contacted Bluesound or NAD for assistance with the problems you're seeing?

Another Bluesound user here. I own an updated 658 a don't have any of the issues you describe. I'm assuming you've contacted both Bluesound support and NAD to see whether they can resolve the problem. Dirac is fine. I wonder if the 658 might benefit from a reset.

The Dirac screen photo is blurry only because I wasn't careful taking the picture.

Dirac used to work great. But I had to remeasure my room because of furniture reorganisation. I used Dirac 3.4.4 (as all later Dirac versions are not recommended due to a bug with subs, which says enough). That’s when some input names got truncated. Even the filter name. Of course I did a reset. It didn’t happen again.

But all the other issues are there, mostly with my library of over 20000 flac’s. It’s here where BluOS really bresks apart. If you only use stresming services, you are ok, I guess. Bar for the atrocious interface on iphone. I’m not alone in this, as you may well see on this forum.

i can even reproduce the display hanging as it usually occurs after grouping with the powernide, degrouping and then turning the c658 off with the remote with the music still playing. Which is not an uncommon action. The next time I switch the streamer on via app, the display hangs 50% of the time. Only a reset will work (and rebuilding the library AGAIN, uploading Dirac filter etc). I have hidden the remote for now, only using the atrocious app and using auto standby. It’s insane, the amount of ‘debugging’ I have done. No NADs or BluOS for me anymore.

Oh, and today: again no album covers. It seems the NAS credentials are AGAIN not propetly passed on. I can see the NAS location, but when I click on it, it is gone. No way of deleting the location. For the hundreth time a hardware reset. I’m done. BlueSound is the worst. I’m looking for legal recompensation. This is unheard of, the amount of bugs!!!!

Yes, for the past 2 years I have. I think it is also hardware related, being the C658. It’s also very suspicious that there are two versions going around, one which has an older BluOS board. I think it has to do with hardware as well. But surely you have the problem with same named albums by different artists, getting wrong release years (they will all be the same) and same-named tracks on different albums (remasters etc). Try choosing one: chances are (1/2 if two tracks, 1/3 if three etc) you are redirected to the wrong album. Or what about loss of album artwork? Plenty of posts about that. Or what about the C568 shutting down in standby while music is still playing when you had switched input on a previous listening sitting? My list is endless. And I see them coming around on this forum too. I’m not alone in this. NAD sucks. BluOS sucks. It has taken all the fun out of music for me.

I use YATE for my metadata and so have the album display sorted. I also place a JPEG in each album folder named cover.jpg which the BluOS will use as a default image.

All my album artwork is smaller than 600k, 1000x1000 all and in jpg (cover.jpg) and the metadata is MusicBrainzed. It worked the last 2 years under v3 and for over 6 years on my NUC/Kodi set. After 1st reindex everything is visible. There is nothing wrong with my library. But ususlly after my display on the c658 hangs, the album art gets lost (partially or fully). Reloading or reindexing doesn’t work. I have to delete the network share and rebuild again. I’m a 52 year old, have a masters degree in Electrotechnics. i know what I’m doing. BluOS always has had pretty major bugs. V4 is just…one big bug. It should be squashed.

Plus I use iPhone only as controller and I think therein lies a big part of the problem, as you all show pictures of pc controller, but certainly not the unuseable iphone app.

I agree, the iPhone controller is less than optimal. The screen is too small and navigation is poor. I use one of my Macs or iPads.

I have 14000 albums and use EZ CD Audio Converter. Before Bluesound I used MusicBee, and I still import there to be sure all my metadata is correct and so I can download listings for my Access Database (which is how I look up music). I have a C368 plus Pulses and a Flex. All are hardwired except for the Flex which I used when on the deck (wifi) or when traveling (bluetooth).

I save album artwork to the metadata but at 600x600 or less. Unfortunately on some of my earlier stuff I only saved to the first track since iTunes picked it up there, so those don't display album covers... and it isn't worth going back and fixing it. And of course sometimes I don't have any artwork, especially on live music.

I am very careful on my naming conventions. I will skip most of that, however, I make sure each album has a unique name. So... since Stevie Nicks had the first Wild Heart, her album is The Wild Heart... and Samantha Fish is Wild Heart (Samantha Fish) and same for Mindi Abair. The album year is always when it was first produced so if it is a remaster it is for example Album (remaster 2020).

Of course having Tidal and Deezer one gets spoiled on the ease of playing music by like artists.

I haven't had any issues that could really be attributed to Bluesound, mostly my issues are due to sporadic power failures while I am playing one of my systems, and those were limited by going to a static IP.

And final note I use the PC controller... I only use Android when traveling or when I am using the Flex around the house. I am an old IT guy and use a keyboard anytime I can.
