Node-brand new, 192 kHz files play silently

Hi Cooch - no need to waste time chasing the Ethernet cable vs Wi-Fi as it is unrelated. Please select Help, Send Support Request in the BluOS App so our Support Crew can review your setup and see what is causing the issue. Please make sure you include in the description the make and model of your DAC

Any chance your connection out is via optical toslink? If so, try a different cable.
Did you confirm it has zero output via all out connections?

Think I solved problem. The node was hooked wired by ethernet to router. I removed Ethernet cable and tried to run it wireless. Guess what, all outputs now play the 192 kHz files without problems. The Ethernet cable is cat 6. I have a 2 gig Verizon router. Didn’t think the cat 6 cable would be the problem but apparently it is. Thoughts?

I'm glad it's working, but not sure if the problem is "solved." Ethernet should be an even better connection than wifi. I would maybe try to swap ethernet cables, maybe it's faulty?
I suppose that if at the end of the day it works, it works, but ethernet should really be the optimal connection type.

I will switch Ethernet cable. The one I was using was unshielded cat 6. Should it be shielded, maybe that’s the problem? Is cat 6 ok?

Likely solved by The First Rule of Tech - when in doubt, reboot

Reboot did not work

I wouldn't worry about the cable type (presuming you are not doing 100 ft runs) as even cat 5 cable can handle the bandwidth.
@Tony W. - Very good advice. Any issues, start with a reboot. So if Cooch you haven't done a reboot, try that.

I was writing my comment while Cooch posted.
My advice on trying a different cable still holds. Maybe even try to put the ethernet into a different port on the router in case one of the ethernet connectors are going.

All, I do have a request in but no direction given yet. Until I hear, I will try different port then different cable. But yea, don’t feel like wasting money and going crazy looking for the right cable. But still probable will.

Ethernet cables are incredibly cheap. You can buy a 50 ft cable for just over $10. But you are right, "if it works, it works," so not sure how much time you want to spend on it.

Should I go shielded this time? One not working is unshielded

The dac? How so? Ethernet cable was not plugged in to dac. Using coax and optical to dac. Both work fine without ethernet plugged in to router. So don’t understand how it could be dac

How long is the run? It would be unusual to need shielding in most home scenarios.
Why not try to connect the node with the cable that came with the device? It's a short cable so interference should not be an issue.

Run is 15 feet. Cable that came with node way too short

I meant to put the node close to the router and use the included cable. This will at least tell you if your longer ethernet cable is the issue or not. If you have the same problem with the included short cable, then you pretty much know it's not a ethernet cable problem and there is no reason to purchase a replacement.

Yes, but I don’t have 15 foot coax or optical cable to run to dac. Guess I would need to get one

You need to cable up! :)

Oh wait, just looked. I do have long toslink I can try. I’ll try your suggestion and see what happens. Thanks. I’ll post my findings in a day or 2, maybe sooner

Ok tried it. Back to no sound with ethernet. Let me reboot everything

And just 192khz material correct? Everything under works fine?
Unlikely to be ethernet cable related.

Correct

Now just static, think I am done. Just going WiFi

Well, I do have WiFi extender, maybe take that out?

I thought you were connecting directly to the router?

I was

I think the silence was the "subtlety" of the music lol. Glad you figured it out

Ha maybe. Not completely figured out as Ethernet still doesn’t work. Tired of worrying about it and trying stuff and changing stuff around. When nothing works. But wireless sounds great and no noise, skips, and plays 192khz. Guess I could just use the node dac, but don’t think it would match the Nuwave.
