    Hi Alec

    Enjoy your NODE.

    1) Yes absolutely - that is what it is designed for

    2) You can, let your ears decide but know the difference between your Anniversary NODE X and the standard NODE N130 is the ESS Sabre DAC compared to the PCM 5242 Burr-Brown DAC.

The DAC is not programmable nor does it come with filters to alter the sound. Instead, Bluesound Players are engineered to create a neutral tone intended to be the most accurate reproduction of the recording as intended rather than be set to an individual room or taste. We know that's not for everyone's taste so using the digital COAX or TOSLink out of the NODE, you can bypass the onboard DAC if you wish to 'improve' on the recording.

Yes you can connect the Node to your preamp, I would set the Node volume to fixed, full volume and then control on your preamp, that is how I used to do it.
That is a decent CDP you have. I doubt the Node Dac will be better but you could try it. I don't really see the point of going through the Node. Yes you will need to use Toslink or Optical cable.

You may want to consider playing the Node through your CDP, if that is possible.Personally I would consider getting an external DAC for both.

Think there is a good hifi dealer in Singapore which stocks some pretty good DACs, you may want to have a demo.
