Update seek-bar every 1 second, instead of every 5 second with Tidal Connect
AnsweredHi,
it would be really awesome, if you could increase the "ping-back" of the BluOS-based devices back to the Tidal App when using Tidal Connect.
As it currently stands, the seekbar only updates every 5 seconds when connecting the Tidal Android App with a BluOS-device via Tidal Connect. When connecting to a Tidal Connect capable device from a competitor (Lintech Airlino+), the seek-bar updates every second (as it should).
The BluOS-device behaviour has the implication, that the song-lyrics function within the Tidal App doesn't behave correctly.
"Arbeitszimmer" is a Bluesound Pulse 2i
"Schlafzimmer" is a Lintech Airlino+
Thank you and best regards,
Tino

Hi Tino.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have forwarded your feedback to our QA team for them to investigate.

I was hoping to see this fixed in 4.2.6, but no luck :/

I would join this request. Five seconds update, is too long and desyncs lyrics scroll. As exemple, please consider that Tidal connect function on wiim streamers, updates every second, keeping in sync lyrics.

I am surprised that this one still hasn't been fixed even in latest update.

I seen somewhere a recent tech note by Linn, about their DSM4 streamer, I think it's not a recent model, reporting: "Tidal Hi-Res streams are very computationally intensive. Until such time as Tidal can address this, reduce the maximum supported sample rate for products that cannot currently support 192k".
Maybe Tidal connect is to much for Bluos hardwares?

Well, that might be possible reason, but I certainly hope not.
Also, I remember clearly upon introduction of new (current) generation of powernode that representative of the Bluesound stated that new hardware/chipset is far more powerful than needed, but that should cover future needs and updates where they don't plan to release a lot of new hardware but instead focus on software improvements.
I also think that Tidal connect might be underpar solution compared to Spotify connect which works perfect, at least in my case...

This happens to me too and really hope it would get fixed.

More accurately, it may be 24/192 playback is too much for your home network. A 24/192khz file requires about 5Mb throughput in your home network (inside your house, not what the ISP advertises when they say 1G to your door). 2 Players grouped means 10 Mb of throughput, 3 is 15 MB... etc...
BluOS proudly does not downsample your content. updates to your phone may be delayed in that traffic.

@Tony W.
Thank you for answering.
Anyway, I would like to point out that playback from Tidal connect to a WiiM streamer in the same environment, updates the playback time every second, without problems even up to 192khz.0 -
A year has passed, a brand new N132 model has appeared and the problem described above is still there. In addition, in spite of a very good WiFi network (in the same place I can watch 4k netflix movies without the slightest problem and the speedtest shows 250 mbps) Tidal's HiRes files run with annoying interruptions. The cheapest Wiim model had no problems at all with either showing time or interruptions. A bit shame :(

Thank you, but this is clearly a universal and not an individual problem, since it is reported by numerous users. What can support help with the fact that Node doesn't show the time in tidal correctly? They will ask me 10 questions, and nothing will come of it. Plenty of other streamers, e.g. DIY on raspberry platform, wiim, google chromecast audio, ifi zen stream, eversolo can show the time correctly on Tidal connect and in the same network configuration play without any interruption.

Hi all,
I just noticed that the seek bar now updates every second instead of every 5 seconds with the newest firmware update (4.10.11).
Therefore: Thank you and well done Bluesound! :)
