how to have an equalizer now with Node X
I was very disappointed with the tone control of the node x - but have a solution:
purchase a creative labs soundblaster X1 - about $50 - a small usbc dac.
install creative labs software on a pc or Mac
get an RTA like sound tools
run a pink noise file
equalize using the creative app to get a flat response or by ear
quickly switch soundblaster to external usb cable - usb out on the node X
select output to external dac - the creative labs X1
sounds way better!
maybe a built in five band equalizer is on the horizon?????

Hi,
Lack of decent tone control is indeed a blind-spot of all the Bluesound equipment range they have ignored for years.
Matt (Brand Manager) has briefly said that "conversations about how we'll be able to implement any additional EQ are happening now" they have successfully rolled-out their 4.0 platform in another thread which is a very good thing even if we don't know what could be a realistic timeline to see anything on the EQ front if anything is actually implemented.
In the meantime your solution helps or people can take a look at the WiiM product range that proposes 10-bands EQ, 4-bands PEQ, Chromecast etc for much less money than Bluesound and much more reactivity on the software development front though in a less classy finish
