Question about Node standby and Sony tv optical out.
AnsweredIt takes a while for my Sony tv to go into deep sleep and switch off the optical output. Will the Node go into standby after 15 minutes when I pause it even though it's still getting a signal on the optical input?

Hi Nico
SONY TVs are a little different in our testing too. We have seen them continue to send 0s which are seen as a mute command but signal detected.
Consider making a preset to a local radio station and then select that station and then pause the music to speed up the process.

My Sony tv takes its time to go into deep standby. I haven't timed it but I think it's about an hour, that's when the optical out and usb ports shut down. If my Node keeps getting a mute command all that time without going into standby I'm just going to keep using the headphones out. At least that one shuts down when I turn off the tv.

I found what I hope is an easy solution to deal with the rather long time it takes my Sony tv to go into deep sleep. I found a toslink switch box (4 in, 1 out) with a remote that can also turn the box on and off. According to the manufacturer it's just a switch and it does nothing to the signal. I'm going to order one and use my universal remote, which I also use for my Node, to switch it on and off. This particular universal remote has two power buttons next to each other at the top, this way I can turn on the switch box and press the power button next to it to turn on my Node.
