    UPDATED OFFICIAL COMMENT:

We do apologise for the inconvenience - we hope to resolve shortly.

On the Music Tab, select Manage next to Music Services and log out of TIDAL.

Re-enter the Manage screen and set the TIDAL Hide Explicit OPPOSITE of what you desire it to be first. Then log into TIDAL. This should resolve the issue until we are able to remedy the situation.

    Thank you for your patience.

Are you able to change settings in the Tidal app for other devices such as tablet, phone or computer?

When I subscribed to Tidal changes I made to this sort of setting on my desktop computer were transferred to BluOS.

My settings on both my desktop and phone Tidal app are set to allow explicit content.

To be clear: I am only encountering this problem in the BluOS app on my iPhone.

I can click the radio button next to "Include Explicit Content" but it always changes it back to "No exlicit content" after I click the Done button on the top left of the menu. I'm on the Music Sources page and I'm clicking "Manage" next to the header for the list of "Music Services."

    HI Edward...

Please try again, but before logging in again, please select Diagnostics, Reboot in the Stetings menu. If it still does not work, please send us a log file by selecting Send Support Request from the Settings menu (Help in Windows or macOS)

Any update on this? I’m having the same issue. I’ve tried the reboot in BluOs and it didn’t work

Not yet. They requested I send in a Service Request directly from the controller which includes a log file. I did that over the weekend. I'll post any resolution here if and when it comes.

In the meantime, I've hooked up my Wiim to the optical port on the NAD C368 so that I can listen to albums like Javelin from Sufjan Stevens, which will not show up in my searches in the Tidal App via the BluOS controller, but of course does show up in my regular Tidal library on my phone and desktop. It's extra weird because a bunch of the songs (tracks?) show up in the BlueOS controller but not the album--presumably because the album has an Explicit rating. Same for several other albums I have on heavy rotation at the moment. So very weird.

Hopefully, they can help me get the module up and running properly . . .

We have been able to reproduce this and are investigating but will likely require a software update to resolve.

Thanks for the update. That's not very encouraging to be honest, esp. given the price on the unit. So I need to either change my streaming service or the unit is essentially useless to me until you get around to a firmware update, which apparently could take quite a while. I don't like to complain but this is pretty upsetting.

This is a widespread issue after all??? I've reported this for days and BluOS is keeping me from most of my tidal content. I kept wondering why no one was answering my email. This just happend to me after the 4.0 update. BlueOS is blocking any album that has "explicit content" thats 90% of all music. Not good...

I’m having the same issue with iOS app 4.2.0 and Bluos 4.2.0 (Node N130)

  • Scott Branham

I've rebooted BluOS, Uninstalled/ reinstalled. Logged in and out of tidal, insured tidal is set to include explicit content on the web and in the app, I've cleared Tidals cache... the Node is quickly becoming not just a paperweight, but an incredibly frustrating 2 year experience.

Also encountering this issue. Quite frustrating not being able to access a large amount of music I’m paying for on a device which I also paid for. Any update on this?

This is just totally nuts from my perspective. You have a huge bug which is causing a big number of users to not be able to play probably a half of the streaming service's catalog and your reply to this is "...will likely require a software update to resolve...". It's been almost two weeks since that response and nothing is happening.

I work as a software engineer for well over a decade now and in all of my experience so far this would be something that should be resolved and pushed to users in a matter of a couple of days at the most.

The same attitude and approach is a constant for you. You should be ashamed.

I agree ftrumt. Of all my years with audio gear, the Node N130 has been only grief from day one. I simply have no clue nor faith from day to day if its gonna work...with its poor integration into your home network, inconsistant wifi capabilities thats riddled with connectivity issues, and now a widespread lock on content from your streaming service providers, what it this brick really good for? I'm beyond frustrated with it.

To solve the explicit content problem with Tidal, is it possible to revert the release change?
I have been working in IT for years and whenever we make a software change we plan for a fall back in case the new version affects the service to our clients.

Maybe we could enable this solution for customers while you develop a new software upgrade to correct this problem.

I’m just using the Tidal iOS app with Connect, yet it’s a workaround. Not a great one, honestly. Fingers crossed for releasing a hotfix asap.

This was not an issue for me until the last Windows Desktop update 4.2. Now it is. For example, Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill (album) does not show up in the Desktop.

I tried reverting to the 4.0.2 Desktop, but that didn't work. Currently I reinstalled the Windows 4.2, and I have Android 4.2.1

As mentioned above I can use the Tidal Connect Desktop.

Interestingly enough, if I play Jagged Little Pill in Tidal Connect, it will show up in the Bluesound Desktop. So to be clear, if you create a playlist in Tidal Connect and select it in the Bluesound Desktop, the explicit content will play. Effectively this is an issue with search.

    Almost three weeks, hah?

Will Bluesound refund me half of this month's Tidal fee? Because I cannot listen to half of their music, again because BlueOS mishandles a binary setting (on what looks like a derelict part of the software's UI)?

If you cannot quickly fix it properly, at least try to change the default to explicit.

With all due respect: FIX THIS ASAP!

Oh, and BTW: To mark this as "Answered" is outright insulting.

I am having the exact same issue on my NAD M32 with a MDC 2 bluos module! Done everything, deleting app, login/logout from tidal - and yes explicit was set to on, but it just keeps turning it off!

The only workaround is to use the native tidal through tidal connect, however it still isn't working! Tidal simply refuses to fix it!! Version 2.64.2 of the tidal app works flawlessly, but you cannot update the app then!

I emailed support a couple days ago not knowing this thread existed, but just thought I’d share a possible workaround. I signed out of Tidal from the blueOS app, then before signing back in, I toggled the radio button to “hide” explicit content. Once signed back in, the opposite radio button is selected, so I’m now set to “show” explicit content. Verified searching and playing explicit tracks works.

This is clearly not ideal, still can’t toggle once signed in and have the setting persist, but it’s better than nothing.

Sweet! Just make sure you follow the above instructions. Jagged Little Pill is back (LOL).

I also shut down the Desktop and opened it again and the explicit setting is retained. This also makes the change in the Android app at the same time.

I was wondering why this didn't show up until a couple of days ago when another burp logged me out of Tidal and then suddenly the problem showed up. Definitely a good work around!!!!!

Glad it worked for you, I should have mentioned I’m using the blueOS app for iPhone and it’s a NodeX I’m streaming to.
I didn’t even realize it was an explicit content setting, just noticed a few Radiohead albums were missing and got curious, so don’t even know how long it’s been an issue on my devices.
Anyway thanks for verifying, Curt, I’m glad you got your Alanis back! 😂

Thank you for this Kevin - I have passed it along to our Product Development Team so they can at least better find the root cause...

...and we do appreciate you using CanCon to test it eh!

@Kevin: I surrender the Tidal fee that Bluesound ows me to your benefit!

Worked like a charm. Thank you for helping us all out!

System here: Windows App, Android App. The Android App took over the setting after I apllied your solution via the Windows App.

@Kevin thanks for shearing this workaround, worked for me too. It's obvious that users need to stick with each other with these devices/software.

Thanks @Kevin! Worked for me as well on iOS + Desktop

I must be doing something wrong because I couldn’t get it to work for me. To review my steps:
    1) I go into the Tidal app on my phone and switch to NOT allow explicit content.
    2) I log out of Tidal in BluOS on my phone
    3) Log back in to BluOS on phone

Thanks for any help you might provide.

Also, when you say Tidal Connect what exactly do you mean? I have the Tidal app on my phone and loaded on the BluOS. Is there another option? I am under the impression that if I use the app on my phone and select for it to play out the module, it will use the Bluetooth link which also reduces the quality of the audio. Am I mistaken?

    Thanks again.
