After 3 days of trying to upgrade to 4.0…
Answered… and only after numerous reboots of my node and router, without knowing how or why, I finally seem to have got it up an running. Sort of: the sound quality seems off and I’ve definitely experienced skips in playback of my library. The playlist populates on my phone but not on my tablet. Please bear in mind all this stuff worked prior to my upgrading to 4.0. Somehow I suspect the software to be extremely oversensitive to less than ideal conditions in terms of wi-fi connection and the state in which the router and the software is found: connecting directly via Ethernet cable seemed to work whereas an attempted wi-fi connect would be more problematic. Generally during the update attempts I constantly wondered if the process hangs, has stopped, is just taking a very long time, or if a reboot will resolve things. I hardly dare switch off the equipment in case it falls off a cliff again and I’ll have to go through another round of reconnecting the player (node2) to my network. It should be redundant to mention that this state of affairs is entirely unacceptable. I can update my phones, tablets, media-boxes, computers etc without having to go through upgrade hell. Why can’t Bluesound offer a similar experience? It’s not the first time either that I’ve been utterly frustrated by this piece of kit.
