    Perhaps I should recount what then transpired....

    Very long story made very short: on second try I managed to convince the local Hi Fi klubben to send the unit to repair, luckily I was within the three years extended warranty, as I suspected a faulty wifi module. Lo and behold, the wifi module was indeed broken and the fault was repaired.

    Did I ever recount that my first node2, the gen. 1, died when it blew its power supply?

    My personal conclusions:

    -hardware seems to be overly fragile when it cannot be trusted to reside in the rack without suffering such major failures.

    -owners of Bluesound equipment should not rule out hardware failure if their issues persist or have not been solved by contacting support.
