Music Apps not supported

Hi. I’m used to listening to music on SoundCloud and MixCloud, but these apps are not supported. After upgrading to BlueOs 4.0, I’m also unable to stream these apps on Bluetooth. How do we solve this?

    Bluetooth is still available with 4.0, you might want to reboot your Bluesound devices and try again.

    While convoluted and more expensive (as there are additional devices to purchase), I do find this to work really well for me:

    • Purchase a Chromecast device, PLUS an HDMI Audio Extractor device of some sort (as an example, this one will extract Hi Rez audio from an HDMI input signal - https://www.auselectronicsdirect.com.au/hdmi-2.0-audio-splitter-extractor-with-hdr-and-arc)
    • Plug in the Chromecast to your TV and configure it first
    • Once fully configured and running properly, unplug the Chromecast from the TV and plug its HDMI 'out' lead into the HDMI 'In' of the HDMI extractor
    • From the 'Out' of the HDMI extractor (choose SPDIF, Toslink, Analogue Out - whatever floats your boat) and run that cable into an input on your BluOS device.
    • Switch your BluOS device to your chosen input that uses the extractor
    • On your phone/tablet fire up a streaming app and cast it across to the Chromecast

    Both the Chromecast and a Hi Rez extractor will support audio up to 192kHZ.

    I use this for listening to the Jazz Groove app from my tablet. BluOS will only allow this station to stream at Mp3 level from Tune In Radio, even if logged into my JG account (there is a streaming address workaround via Jazz Groove itself but it doesn't play nicely at all with BluOS on my NAD).

    This set up is also handy to stream high quality sound from Bandcamp or any other service that you can cast across via a Chromecast (perhaps YouTube Music?)

    Until ( and if ever) BluOS includes these streams/stations this works well for me.
