Please continue working directly with support@nadelectronics.com with your NAD C658 - that being said, I checked in with our good friends down the hall and they are having a hard time locating a support request using the e-mail you have registered here... so I have taken the liberty of asking them to reach out to you.

After 4.0 my volume limits were back to default and I also had to put up the volume much higher than normal. Maybe that's the case for you too?

Hmmm, I mean it's possible, but this has been an ongoing issue before the volume limiter function was implemented...I tried sending NAD a support request but that was pretty useless...

I ended up solving this issue.  Here's what I did:

     - Removed HDM-2 MDC card ( no longer using HDMI ARC because it's no good )

     - Transferred existing Dirac file to C658

     - Factory reset BluOS and MCU ( wipes out Dirac settings )

     - Uninstalled / Reinstalled BluOS App on phone ( because it never finds the device again otherwise )

As for why this worked I will never know, however these are the steps I took and it's now working as I would expect it too.  As for why the firmware upgrade degrades the quality of the output upon installation, again...I'll never know. Unfortunately this means I have an unused MDC card and I won't be using Dirac again so it's a bit of a waste but it's the only way I can guarantee that no changes are made to the system to keep it working the way it's meant to.

I think moving to a different unit will be how I manage these issues going forward, too much software getting in the way of the hardware. too many variables that can go wrong and no one seems to know why.
