Wie kann ich mich mit dem PC auf die interne Festplatte verbinden um lehre Ordner zu löschen oder Rips die nicht fertig gemacht wurden

    ---------

How can I connect to the PC on the internal hard drive in order to delete folders or rips that were not finished

As far as I can see, Andreas wants to know how to see the contents of his Vault's hard drive on his PC so that he can delete folders and/or files related to rips that didn't finish.

Because it's Saturday, I'll say that it should be visible on his local area network.

These days, I have it mapped as a drive (V), and I have found this to be the more reliable method of connection.

I gotta get a few things off my chest. Although my Vault2 *appears* to be functioning properly since the BluOS 4.2 patch, there are still some lingering issues that have made my life a living hell.

As I mentioned way back in October when the 4.0 bug first bricked my Vault, there was a very loud pop the first time playback cut out abruptly -- only an hour after I involuntarily downloaded the upgrade. I had just purchased a brand new receiver a few days earlier, but given the uncertainty regarding that loud pop, I decided not to swap out my old receiver until the Vault firmware was fixed and I could be certain it would not damage the new receiver. ONE MONTH LATER, my Vault2 finally seemed repaired and I was able to patch in the new receiver and a new 8K blu-ray player.

Now, just 4-5 weeks after that, my new receiver has blown an amplifier circuit. It must be returned to the manufacturer for an expensive repair -- so my entire entertainment system will be down for another month. The reason for the blown circuit is a total mystery: no speaker wires had come loose, no component connectors were touching the back panel of the receiver, and it was plugged into a surge protector the NY Times recently claimed was the best, safest surge protector on the market. And I was listening to my Vault playback at a volume well below the receiver's threshold. There is no logical rationale as to why the receiver suddenly crashed mid-song -- though it made the same loud pop as before. The only possibility I can imagine is that a new BluOS upgrade was available earlier that morning. I thought I opted out of it, but then I know I opted out of the previous upgrade as well. And it downloaded anyway and bricked my player.

Has anyone experienced anything remotely similar? I'm extra-pissed because, had there not been a month's delay due to the bad firmware upgrade, my new receiver would have been returnable within 30 days of purchase. Instead, because it sat in its box unopened for nearly a month waiting for the bug fix, I can no longer return it and get my money back. I just have to shell out more money two months after spending $1,500 on a receiver that only worked for a month.

And BTW ... I HATE the new controller interface. As someone who doesn't stream music, I'm now forced to bypass an extra step every time I want to listen to music from my Vault2. Sorry, but bah humbug. No music/TV/blu-rays for the holidays = frowny face emoji x 20.

Not had that issue. You might be suffering from a coincidence rather than anything Vault-related.

I, too, don't like the interface, certainly on my iPad. There are so many new steps added to many operations and, instead of simply getting to where we want to be quickly, we are all taken around a long, standardised loop of steps.

For me, not having the search box above the library display is a major, major minus; and not having track run times in search results is most unhelpful when looking for long or short versions etc.

The old GUI was tight and concise whereas this one is more like the start of a design effort, with ideas just dropped anywhere on the page and no real structure.

It actually looks as though the new GUI is designed to reduce the number of paths through the app, which simplifies maintenance but makes usage more long-winded. If so, then it was a retrograde step, at least for Vault users.

@Ian - Thanks for your reply. Agree with everything you say, including the coincidence theory. I know I sound paranoid. But what else could’ve caused total “amplifier circuit failure” if it wasn’t from overheating, excessive volume, a power surge, shorts in the wiring, incorrect speaker impedance settings or a loose connection? Can receivers spontaneously combust? I’m utterly clueless. I just want to know what happened so I can avoid a repeat shitshow after it comes back from the repair shop.

probably best to note the above comments, critiques in Feature Requests _:) and see how this V4 Framework enables the promised integration of user ideas. It will be interesting to watch and wait on those posts, both existing and new.

Rarely use streaming apps, and also find this new I/F less useful for my local library purposes.

    Degraded in several aspects

iPad splitting Now Playing from Play Queue so to and fro if wanting to see next up and or skip a few tracks. No media controls in Play Queue page

MacOS - Now Playing and Play Queue on same page, but the volume slider requires and additional step to enable it from the "speaker circle" which seems unnecessary especially if a user needs to quickly lower the volume.

    maybe we can customise ???

As a technical person, I would initially view this as a coincidence.
A moment of caution would be wise however as gremlins do know how to make fools of otherwise smart people.
The pop sound, presumably it came from the Vault, so to protect the connection to the amplifier I would use optical as it removes any chance of earth connection between the two. Should you be using the rca connections, it might be possible to use an amplified switch box in the path to make this the vulnerable bit should the Vault have an issue. They can be had quite cheaply from ebay or Amazon, I use one that cost $24 US to increase the output of a cd player. I have been stung with a Panasonic bluray dying and killed one input into an expensive Anthem preamp, not wanting a repeat there. Just my two cents worth!

    Sage advice, Bruce. Many thanks.

I do use an external tube DAC with my Vault. A digital coax cable connects the Vault to the DAC, with analog cables connecting the DAC to the receiver. I'd hate to give it up, as it warms up the sound immeasurably. But I also don't want to fry my new receiver a second time.

FWIW I just got off the phone with Denon (the receiver manufacturer), and they said they'll be able to determine what happened when they repair the unit. They also told me surge protectors are worthless, and that I should plug the receiver directly into a wall socket from now on.

I use PS Audio PS20 as my power source since we had several devices destroyed by a power surge, incoming mains supply momentarily hit about 34Kv when a high tension cable dropped on our street supply. The Vault has been supplanted by an Eversolo Dmp-a6 as it sounds much better. Use the Vault in my lounge room now.

I too ponder the value of the current version, but as I play from the hard drive more or less exclusively with a few radio programmes added, I doubt I am the person who is thought of when designing it. I don't use play lists at all.
And that is not meant as an insult.
It does seem longer winded to use, but still looks good on the old laptop I use as a remote.
But really if it had been left alone, I wouldn't have noticed any need for a change.
The only thing this has made me wonder about is the life of the hard drive and whether or not I will want to continue if/when it does.

After ripping 5000 or so of my cds I too think about wear and tear, and if the drive can be cloned. Have transferred my collection to the ssd in the Eversolo, but the interface is well behind the Vault unfortunately. Can't figure out how to "like " and do playlists yet. The instructions are not matched to the player either, as some things are different or not there. Prefer to use a separate internet radio device as yet to find an integrated one that is easy to use.
