Ugreen dongle no longer working on BluOS 4.0.2
AnsweredI have a ugreen USB dongle instead of the dongle that came with the T758. The ugreen dongle has an ethernet port so I don't need to rely on wifi.
It worked perfectly before the 4.0 update but now it stopped working completely. In the NAD menu, it shows there is no IP address.
I've switched back to the dongle that came with the T758, it does still work for wifi but sadly has no wired ethernet.

Hi Dennis,
BluOS 4.2.2 is a target BluOS release for NAD T758 to fix this issue. Please see release notes below;
https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/4415227249175-Introducing-BluOS-4-2-2If you are having issues loading the firmware as your T758 is not connecting wirelessly in order to download it, please contact support@nadelectronics.com

Hi Christiaan.
Our Quality Assurance team is investigating. A low level kernel update in BluOS 4.0.2 is unexpectedly preventing the UGreen AX88179A where the AX88179 original chipset worked fine. We are investigating and hope to restore this in a near future update. Ironically we started shipping the UGreen in the box now but the ones we shipped do not have the A on them - yet some off the shelf UGreen ones do.
We do hope to resolve this in a near future update so you can restore your old adapter as we like them too. Much cleaner.

Hi Tony,
is there a way to downgrade the system to an earlier version until the new version works as expected?
thanks

No - but you CAN simply connect the wireless adapter directly to the MDC card for a wireless connection. or as I answered here; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360053163913-NAD-T758-V3i-ethernet-network-connection?page=1#community_comment_18787007293847

Tony,
the reason for me to use a wired connection instead of wifi is that AirPlay doesn't work well in my setup using the wireless link. It stutters, goes on and off, and eventually disconnects altogether. The wifi access point is 1 meter away from the receiver. I was hoping to get a more reliable connection by using a cable.
Being unable to downgrade an operating system is somewhat disappointing.

I am having exactly the same issue. Cannot play AirPlay over wifi, and cannot try Ethernet because it won’t connect. I just unboxed the NAD amp today and I can’t even play music. I exclusively use Airplay. Really frustrating and about to just return it.
Any advice? Who should I contact next?
UPDATE: Airplay stabilized and is now reliable. I'm not sure why I was getting all the funky timecodes and inability to play reliably at first, but it's OK now.

I have a NAD T758 that has worked fine wired (using a Amazon ethernet adaptor) until the BluOs 4.0.2 update. I now have to use the wireless adaptor.
This morning there was a BluOs update to version 4.2.0... unfortunately the wired connection still does not work.

Hi Andre
We are continuing to investigate why these two chipsets differ and drivers work on one but not the other. We do apologise that this is taking longer than hoped.

Same issue here with my 758 v3. Beyond frustrating that a fix hasn’t been created. I just updated the blueos to 4.2.0 and am disappointed the fix hasn’t been included. I don’t have a WiFi card for the 758. Was it supposed to come with one? This was installed by a professional av company as part of a 12 player blue sound system. Really frustrating when the main room can’t play music. Hoping for a quick fix or please contact me separately so you can send me a dongle that would work. Thank you

I can agree having the same ethernet connectivity problem with my NAD T758V3. Unfortunately it is installed at a spot where no wifi is available. So I am not able to listen to any streaming music. I contacted the support, to ask for a link/support to backup to the latest stable 3.x version. But the ticket was closed with any further support. Can someone please provide me a download file for USB backup. Funny experience: When manually scheduling a update via OSD, the ethernet connection works. (I guess bootloader mode)
Best regards

We are currently running tests on a potential fix both here in our QA Labs and in the field. Look for a software patch early next week.
