Artist Information is missing on the Android when viewing a playlist or album in the local library
AnsweredIn the 4.0 Android app, when viewing a playlist or album from the local library, the artist name is missing. Switching back to the earlier interface resolves the problem.
This is particular nuisance when viewing an album such as a soundtrack where each song is by a different artist. It's not because there is missing metadata, because in my collection of over 56,000 FLAC files, there is no song that does not have the ARTIST and ALBUMARTIST tags populated.
Even more of a nuisance exists in the iOS app. When looking at a playlist, below the song title you decided to display the first composer tag, followed by the artist. Since you've never displayed the composer tag previously, I have no idea why it was decided to display this information, and only in the iOS app.
About 36,000 of my FLAC files have the composer, but each composer is represented as a separate COMPOSER entry. If I changed the metadata to condense multiple composers into a delimited string, I think you'd run out of space because some songs have several composers.

Thanks for the feedback Surman
QA is investigating the Artist not appearing.
The Composer being displayed has been a long asked for feature by many but I have passed your feedback along to our Porduct Development Team.

Same over here.

Same problem here - it happens with all playlists, regardless of the music source. In my Qobuz playlists the artist info is also not visible. Will not use the new version until Artist name comes back in the playlists.

I don't think displaying the composer is a bad thing, but I'm not sure why it should appear before the artist name. On liner notesĀ for a CD or vinyl record, the composer is never shown more prominently the artist name.
I think a better place to display this type of metadata is when you press the three dots on the currently playing song and another screen pops up where you have among other things, Info and Technical info. Under Technical info there is more room and you could display a wealth of embedded metadata.

This thread is about a year old. However, it would be wonderful if the composer would be visible directly or via the three dots in the Android app. I am a Bluesound fan, but also a classical music fan. In classical music, both the artist - performer and the composer are important.
Thanks!

Hi Paul
Please ensure you are running the latest version of the Andorid App (4.8.x) as we did make some changes here to help with this. Then Rebuild your index form Settings, Diagnostics, Rebuild Index. If problems persist, please contact support@bluesound.com as we can make some recommendations if it turns out to be a tagging issue.
