HDMI output from your receiver won't work. You will need an audio extractor for that.
If your receiver has "pre-out", you can use that, but you will have to "group" players to broadcast to other players.

Hi, thanks Bjorn. So, I bought and plugged in an audio extractor - this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095DD4NW8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

It does support ARC, assuming that's require to get this to work. I also have an ARC enabled HDMI output port on my receiver, connected to the extractor's HDMI input, and an optical out connected to the Node's optical in.

So far, can't get any audio from any source selected on my receiver to play back on other BS players (speakers). I select Optical Input, still nothing.

I have not tried HDMI connection from extractor to Node, because I'm short a cable -- but the extractor write up on Amazon suggests it sends audio to optical and RCA outputs.

    Anything I've got wrong here...?

    Did you "group" your players?
Does it work if you use another source/music service on the Node?

Players are grouped - I only have 2 so far while I'm figuring this out. 1 Node which is connected to my AV Receiver (Cambridge Audio CXR120) and a BS Flex 2i.

I'm able to get full playback and functionality from both players when using Airplay or Bluesound as the source into the AV Receiver. I have yet to be able to get my other sources connected into the AVR to play back out to the Flex 2i -- TV (TiVo Box connected to AVR via HDMI); AppleTV (HDMI); or Phono analogue input.

Anyone have recommendations on getting this to work? In theory, the Node does act this way, correct? As both a source and an input/broadcaster to other players on the network? So far I've only gotten it to work as a source in to my receiver.

Basically as BJØRN ULVIK said initially… Looking on the internet I see the AVR has analogue record outs, try these into the NODE and ignore HDMI ARC.

No - your assumption is incorrect.

The NODE is an Audio Return Channel receiver meaning it is receiving the decode audio mix only. This decoding is done by the HDMI extractor in your TV. Your BluRay Player is sending coded streams that do not have the audio pulled out. This is why you must have the NODE also plugged into the HDMI port on your TV that is labelled ARC. This is how HDMI works

Thank you, Tony. So -- I have an ARC supported HDMI out from the AVR, running into an ARC supported audio extractor. I then have optical out from the extractor into the Node, and am trying to get it to play via Optical Input. No luck.

Do we think running from my TV back out to HDMI ARC is high probability of success? My TV is flush mounted and has HDMI cables running through the wall... but if need be of course I'll give it a shot.

The other thing is, I play most music on vinyl and absolutely want full house capability for vinyl... is there any way to get this into the Node, or am I just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a Hub?

    Thanks!
