Spotify integration in Bluos 4.0

Official comment
Since the introduction of Spotify Connect in September 2013, Spotify is no longer offering integration (like e.g. Tidal and Qobuz) to other systems.

That what I was afraid off... without integration (and without spotify offering hifi) I'm missing out on a lot using this service with Bluos. Knowing that integration never will happen it's time for me to switch to Tidal or Qobuz. Thanks!

That's not really true.
Sonos has Spotify integration working flawless, and apparently so does Google for their speakers.

What Krihad said is true, Sonos is the only company with a full integration and all of the rest of us have a connect model, not for the lack of asking. From a global perspective on Spotify we stay up to date on all of their SDK updates, so we are fully current. We are a good partner with them so as they have new tech they want to work with we help them.

I wonder why my comment gets downvoted because there's no lies in it.
I really question that Spotify does not offer any options for integration. I just had contact with their helpdesk because I can't imagine Spotify blocking this kind of integration. They can only benefit from it.
Answer from Spotify was that it's a choice from BlueSound not to integrate.0 -
Not true, if we could upgrade to the fully integrated version of Spotify we would have done so years ago. This would be a positive for CI/Pro and for other folks as well. About 10 years ago they made the decision to go to a Connect model due to the overwhelming number of products to certify and support. And at this time they chose to stop their integration model favouring this method.

I’m not bashing anything or anyone, but I quote the answer from Spotify yesterday: “I see BluOS is not supporting the integration. No, it has nothing to do with a unique position [for Sonos] but mostly with the interface and options BluOS is offering at the moment.”
Anyway, I get that it’s not happening.
