And a feature that was lost over time: in the controller 2.14.0 (windows), when right clicking on a playlist you had a choice between "delete", "set preset"  or "tracks". Especially the "tracks" was extremely useful as it gave you a preview of the songs in the playlist without the need of loading the list.

Moreover, how does one make a preset for a playlist? Only "delete" seems to be available. (Or am I missing someting?)

Unless these features reappear in a future update, I'll be forced to keep using the obsolete version.

    Hi Alain

Click or tap on the playlist anywhere but the bottom right (where the play logo is) - that will show you its contents without loading it.

I would like to know what you expect when you say: 4.0 and still no album shuffle...

With BluOS 4.0 a new shuffle logic has been implemented, and you will now see Shuffle in the context menu for Albums, Playlists etc.

    But maybe we missed something?

Not sure that I understand your question. I don't  know where to find "Shuffle in the context menu for Albums, Playlists etc". But I do know that we are several users that have requested simple album-shuffle (not only track shuffle within a list).

What should album-shuffle do according to you?

If you have the new version of BluOS 4.0 on your iOS or Android devices and BluOS players, you should now see an option to start music playback of an album or a playlist in randomized order, if you open the context menu (three dots).

I know a lot of users have asked for at better shuffle logic, and shuffle has been improved with the release of BluOS 4.0.

I am not speaking for the TS, but since you are listening, here are four points to a disappointing shuffle behaviour in BluOS.

    1. There is no shuffle option for BluOS playlists, only delete. Please explain why this is overseen?

    2. The big bug: When pressing shuffle, play queue is getting shuffled BUT skips lots of the tracks in the play queue, because in BluOS the song that is now playing can not remain track no 1 in the shuffled play queue? As if saying: "Okay, shuffle the song order, then you are not getting to hear the full album either." Shuffle again, skips even more tracks, shuffle again, a new selection of tracks are skipped. It is a unique, but not ideal, take on shuffling a play queue. :)

    3. Shuffle is not available to presets. Why?

    4. I believe many users look at their streaming services offering a play and a shuffle button side by side. In BluOS shuffle is not an easy to find option in the album view, there is only an oversized play button. Easy access to play, for sure, but why not do this also for shuffle?

Hope this gives some insight from another user's perspective.

Showing an example. First picture, standard playback=full album. Second picture, shuffle playback=5 songs skipped.

Thanks. Sorry but I don't see any shuffle option after pressing the three dots. Using windows and restarted the node. Same in Android.  With album-shuffle I mean shuffle among albums. There is the sign for shuffle within playlist as usual. But that is not new. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your post KriHad, I appreciate you taking time to write.

If you start an album or playlist with the new shuffle function, found in the context menu, you won't miss any tracks. But I do see what you mean when choosing shuffle from a current playing queue.

BluOS playlist do need more items in the context menu, and this will come in future upgrades.
