After listening to the latest Darko episode can someone tell me if the Powernode 2is hardware is airplay 1 or airplay 2. I know it says airplay 2 but according to Darko IOS downsamples to lossy when using airplay, if the receivers hardware is airplay 2. Now, apparently the hardware can be airplay 1 and still do multi room. So my question is. Is the hardware airplay or airplay 2. I hope I’ve explained this properly

  Bluesound hardware is Airplay 2.

  if so, then when streaming from your phone it’s not lossless it’s lossy 🤷‍♂️

  Basically it’s a right mess on Apple’s part. Airplay 2 can send lossless / bit perfect but just not using Apple Music on iOS. Then some bang on about how Sonos has Apple integration but don’t realise it’s AAC at 256 kbps.
