How do I test the quality of my wired connection?
AnsweredHello,
I recently switched from a Squeezebox on WiFi (my preferred streaming solution for 10+ years) to a wired Bluesound Node N130. The experience with ease of setup and sound quality has been terrific with a few minor quibbles/bugs with Amazon Music.
My question is, how can I test the quality of the wired connection? Would pinging the unit and observing packet loss percentages and average response times be good enough?
Thank you.

Using ping is a good tool for a local network but do remember you are including the device you run the ping from in the results, so best to use a wired device. Some router have networking tools built in so worth checking.
Checking at a physical level using network testers and then at the Router / switch to see any errors and link speed would then be the next step but just swapping out Ethernet cables can help if you think you have an issue.
