Dead hard drive. Unit out of warranty

Dissembled vault. Removed and tested hard drive. Dead. Can I put in a new one? Is there proprietary software on the drive? What tips & challenges. Thanks

  Of course now opened all warranty / repair/ replacement by Bluesound is not an option. You need the replacement drive in Ext 4 format.
