Is coax output digital

Not sure if this has been asked before, but here goes -

On the Node X I believe that All digital outputs disables its internal DAC, is this correct?

And, is the coax out analogue or digital?

  The coaxial out is digital, however using it does not disabled the internal DAC but bypasses it.

  Bad wording on my part, apologies. 
  In other words the high grade internal DAC isn't used at all except for analogue, am I correct?

  Absolutely correct, internal DAC is for the analogue and headphone outs.
