Suggest for the time being you look at other streaming services that produce CD quality or better, there is an official comment from Bluesound in this thread…

Thanks for the response and the link. Several other folks comment about their frustration of Apple Music not being integrated into BluOS, the fact that Sonos has had Apple Music integration for years (albeit not fully hi-res) and that Eversolo now has fully integrated hi-res Apple Music. Suggesting I switch streaming services is not very helpful and doesn’t answer my original question.

Mike, this is a community forum - I am a user like you. I posted a link to the very thread that Bluesound had made an official comment in and one which is all you will get from Bluesound as they don’t comment on future plans and it’s the best answer you will get. Yes they said BluOS 4.0 is coming but absolutely nothing nothing about new integrations within it.

Apologies, Seppi….didn’t mean it to come off as hostile. Again, thanks for the link. I found it interesting and it indicated to me that others are hoping for some sort of Apple Music integration too. Here’s hoping 4.0 will address this. With some of the competition incorporating Apple Music, I feel it’s something Bluesound needs to address.

Hi Mike, thank you. I have actually looked at the integration with Eversolo and it’s not exactly an integration as it’s only an Android device running the Android version of Apple Music so a bit of cheat. BluOS does not run Android or have the screens on Bluesound hardware to allow this.

Both Apple and now Tidal have introduced hires music without proper support on third party hardware, hopefully this will change over the next year but do think it’s going to take a while. Personally I have switched back to Deezer and very happy with CD quality and the interface in Bluesound.

That was one of my concerns with the Eversolo, Seppi, as I knew it was based on Android so wondered if it was running the Android version of Apple Music. As I don’t think Apple is about to license out IOS, I wonder how else you could do it? Maybe an Apple Music Connect, like Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect would work. Anyway, hoping there will be something that works in the future as there seems to be the demand, given the BluOS comments and the Eversolo comments saying the ability to run Apple
music natively is a game changer.

Apple like to promote Airplay as their connect method, ironically Airplay can support lossless just not using the Apple Music App on iOS. I think we will probably see an updated Airplay at some point but no idea when.

Apple music for us as a family would be good but Apple force you to add users into the “Family” group of which there can only be five additional members. I have lots of children at home and some are 18+ meaning I don’t want them in the “Family” as it ties up he spaces for the younger Children. So the reality is any other music streaming service with a Family plan is our only option as these are not locked into Apple. Most of the family actually prefer Spotify but I am aiming for the holy grail of lossless before committing or switching. Spotify Connect probably won’t work with lossless anyway - sigh.

Family works for us as there are only five of us. That being said, I guess the other eleptin the room is, as the Eversolo runs the Android version of Apple Music, is it pre-installed or do I need to download it, and if so, do I need to pay for it separately from my existing Apple Music subscription?! And would all my downloads/playlists etc be preserved? Need to research this much further.
