Compatible with dual power amps?
Hi everyone
I have 2 Linn LK 140 power amplifiers, 1 for right channel and 1 for left channel.
I connected these amps to my Node 2i, it worked great for around 10 minutes, then the signal to the left channel randomly turns off and the amp goes into standby mode.
The amp has been sent in for diagnostics, no fault was found and I changed cables to some backup interconnects.
Does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong? Does the Node limit the amount of Watts to the left/right channels?
Appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Basically, your amplifer is overloading and/or overheating. Check your speaker cables.
Also; if you switch L/R input on your Linn's, does the erratic behaviour follow? -
Hey, thanks for yoru reply!
>Basically, your amplifer is overloading and/or overheating.
Wouldn't this have appeared in the diagnostic tests though? They ran it for hours without incident (apparently, though it's a very reputable firm, so willing to gove them the benefit of the doubt).

Can do, what am I looking for? For added context, if I plug both speakers into the functioning amp, the whole system works perfectly, music plays without incident. Beautifully in fact, the DAC on the Node is incredible!

I switched the L/R from the Node to the amps yesterday, and the problem stayed with the same amp. To me it seems logical the amp is the issue, but given the diagnostics from Linn, I'm hella confused!
Linn tech support suggested I adjust the sensitivity on the amp, I've not tried this yet and is what prompted my question about the watts being delivered from the Node. I will give this a go when I get home later today but wanted to get some other ideas>

If one amplifier work with both speakers connected, you can rule out the Node and 1 amplifier.
Max output of the Node should be abt. 2V - 2,1V. Input signal for maximum output of your amplifier is 870mV.0 -
Thanks again for your help.
I actually haven't run the "faulty" amp as a single power amp, I intend to add that to my list of things to try.
Assuming that works, where else could the fault lie? Something in the speakers themselves do you think?0 -

If it were your speaker(s), it should behave erratic on both your amplifiers.
