Blu OS still showing deleted external playlists -
AnsweredThis is an annoyance more than anything. When I delete an externally created playlist from my drive (m3u) and use Settings > Music Library > Reindex Music Collection - the file does not disappear from the BlueOS application and is still there and fully functional even though it is no longer on the HDD (NAS in my case).
If however I rebuild the index using Help > Diagnostics > Rebuild Index the playlist disappears but of course this takes much longer and it’s not something I would want to do on a regular basis.
Win 11 PC - using the latest ver of Blu OS

My mistake - it was a different issue that I resolved through Android.
Complete re-build of index is needed.
Apologies 🤔

I'm facing the same issue and would appreciate a response to this as well.

Hi - I sorted this out myself.
Delete the playlist via the Android App and not the Windows App.

Hi Simon
Thanks for your message. Could you please provide a few more details about how you do this using the Android app?
Using the latest version of the Android app, when I touch the three dots beside a playlist, the only options I am presented with are Play now, Shuffle, and Favourite. The delete playlist option is not present.

First post is correct
BluOS can only read from a source, so imported playlists can only be deleted at the source, and a full rebuild of the index is needed.
Standard "reindex" will only add/remove existing files, but will not pick up any changes to playlist(s) or artwork. Any added playlist(s) will be indexed.1 -
@Bjorn - Thanks for clarifying that deleting a playlist does require a rebuild of the index. My question is more on the lines of why does something as trivial as deleting a playlist require a full rebuild of the index? Rebuilding the index is time consuming for large collections like mine and takes a toll on the hard disk. Deleting a playlist (the need for which can arise rather frequently) should ideally be accomplished as easily as deleting a song, by a simple standard reindex.
