If you use the Amazon app instead of the Bluesound app and play the same playlist do the tracks play fine?

I just tested it, and the Amazon app can plays all the songs fine on the same play list.  But I did noticed the songs that Node 2i can't play are labeled UltraHD, and the ones it can play are labeled just HD.

Does that mean Node 2i can't play Amazon UltraHD songs?  Or is there a setting I have to change?

    Thanks.

    Posted but it went awol…

Are you using an external DAC on the Node, if yes try another optical / coaxial lead and check what bitrates it supports.

Also if using an external DAC can you temporarily try the analogue outputs?

Ok I think we are getting closer.  My Node 2i is connected to my Pioneer VSX-LX503 receiver, which has a AK4458 DAC that supports up to 32bit/384KHz.  But its co-axial/optical digital in supports only up to 24bit/96KHz.  Amazon UltraHD music is 24bit/192KHz, hence no music.  Any recommendations?

If I switch to analog output (RCA connectors) to my receiver, will it see the hi resolution music?

    Thanks.

Yes, switching to analogue will let the Node use its internal DAC so you get hires music.

    Edit…also MQA

Same issue as Paul here, but I'm not able to fix the problem.  I run optical out to an external (tube) dac.  The dac is connected directly (analog out of course) to my amplifier.  This all worked wonderfully until this week.  Now any Amazon tune labeled Ultra HD will not play.  Seems the HD ones play fine.  I tried your suggestion of changing the MQA to external dac, but that got really jumpy after a couple minutes and became unlistenable to the point where it stopped completely.  The MQA stream from Radio Paradise works fine.  Not sure if it's the same as Amazon's Ultra HD though.

I did plug the node directly into my amplifier which works just fine, but that defeats the purpose of my tube dac (I have a tube amp also).

Also works fine streaming Ultra HD via Bluetooth from my new iMac, but that's not a fix I'm looking for obviously.

Any other suggestions?  Appreciate your time and input.

Basically it sound like your DAC won’t support the higher bitrates of Amazon Ultra HD. Check with the manufacturer to see what the DAC supports. With this knowledge you could then choose another streaming service / subscription level that the DAC handles.

Sounds like good advice.  Thanks again for your time.
