Simple Remote with Physical buttons.
AnsweredI wondered if anyone knows of a way to control volume+/- and mute with a wireless physical button controller of some kind. There are several ways to achieve this with Sonos (Senic, Microsoft Surface DIAL) but none i can find for BluOS?
I have the Ci580 which was sold as working with the RC1 IR remote however this only works on 1 of the 4 zones so is somewhat hobbled as a result.
I am trying to avoid the delays with using a touchscreen device (waiting for app to start, waiting for wifi to connect etc) when 'traditional' hard button remotes are a great deal more instant for frequently used commands. This could make a real difference to mute when the doorbell/phone rings etc. The Bluesound Pro CP100 goes some of the way but is wired and a bit expensive!

Hi Jeremy
The CI580 as advertised only has 1 IR port. Check and see if you have the CI580 or the CI580v2. If you have the v2, you can use the Apple Home App to make adjustments as the v2 supports AirPlay.
If however you do not have the v2 or are an Android user, check out www.bluesound.com/downloads and scroll to the bottom for a copy of the simplified API where you can look at possibly using a number of IoT Buttons or Widget Apps to simulate this over wi-fi.

Hi Tony,
I have the version 1. Can you confirm if this might work:

Finally can you advise if the Bluesound pro CP100 would work?

You can find the iPort integration tool in the same location as the API document, along with Lutron and other Integration Drivers.
Bluesound Professional, like all BluOS Enabled products, are fully compatible (and may be your best bet).
